King's Church Uckfield

This is where there should be a neat description of the church, which sells it to you with a quick, pithy tagline. However, that's really hard to do. Sure, we have guitars and drums in the Sunday service, but that isn't all we're about. We emphasise people as being the church, not the building, but to most people that's just semantics. We do stuff in the community, but "community" is a rather nebulous word. Maybe the description is actually words about the things that we do, we have done, and the people that do them.

Late Night Shopping 2007

Uckfield Late Night Shopping in 2007 was better than ever! Thankfully, the weather was clear and crisp with the rain that threatened not making an appearance.

The King's Church, Uckfield put on a living nativity that walked from Bridge Cottage, up the high street to the Town Square where there was a puppet show, Carols, and other entertainment for children and grown-ups alike.

There was also a tree where local school-children could hang the beautiful decorations that they had made themselves.

Mulled Wine and Mince Pies were given out to around 450 people whilst they were watching the performances, and it was generally agreed that it had been a wonderful evening.

Sussex Horse Rescue Trust provided two real donkeys for the living nativity which were a fantastic addition to the evening. The children loved being able to stroke the donkeys.

All we have to do now is make it better for 2008!
