Mums' pamper day

Last weekend, we put on a pamper day for some of the mums who come to under-ones, over-ones and the parenting course. We got some beauticians to come along and do facials, massages, manicures, pedicures, waxing and eyebrow shaping. There were also foot-spas, a nail bar, computer-aided hair design, and of course, a swim in the indoor pool. There were also sun-loungers and glossy magazines in the garden.

The mums were given a cream tea, and a goody-bag to take home with them. They all thought it was wonderful and relaxing, and they enjoyed a break from the children for the afternoon. I guess we'll have to do another one!

The best comment of the day was the woman who wasn't sure about coming as none of her friends were, but came and ended up loving it. She tried out everything going and had three treatments. Near the end she decided to paint her nails and asked who had paid for all the nail varnishes etc. When told it was the church she said 'I love the church!'. It made my day!
My community group ladies worked really hard helping behind the scenes and Mel didn't get a break all afternoon doing the computer aided hair design, because people were so keen to see themselves with different hairstyles on! Melissa, Julie, Nicky and myself felt really proud of the whole day and the mums loved every minute.
