Elders

Three elders work as a team to provide the spiritual oversight and direction of the church.

Ade Ward

Ade moved to Uckfield to assume the role of lead-elder in 2013. He has previously been involved in churches in Crewe and Sheffield. Ade has worked in the past as a teacher of English in secondary schools. He works full-time for the church and is responsible for the preaching and training amongst other things. Ade is married to Hannah and they have two young children, Joel and Anna-Joy. He enjoys spending time with his family, follows Liverpool F.C. and loves reading.

Jon Scott

Jon has been an elder for over 20 years. He is a director of a local business that specialises in geotechnical and structural monitoring of civil engineering projects all around the world. He is married to Siri whom he met in 1980 whilst working in a refugee camp for Vietnamese Boat People in Hong Kong. They have lived in Uckfield since 1984 and have three grown-up sons. Siri is heavily involved in the pastoral care in the church. In addition to serving the church as an elder, Jon has many passions including bird watching, riding motorbikes and supporting Norwich City.

Steve May-Miller

Steve has been an elder in the church since the late 1990s. His main leadership responsibilities are for music, worship and sound equipment. He works for Spring Harvest where his responsibilities include their French holiday park. Steve and his wife Ann have two grown-up children. Together they lead one of the church home groups. Steve presents the Sunday Breakfast show on 105 Uckfield FM; he enjoys cycling and in 2015 completed a solo ride across France.

Wider Leadership Team

Sid Martin

Sid is our church administrator and company secretary. He is responsible for making sure the church is run in line with all the various legislation that has to be satisfied, as well as managing the day to day activities of the church. He is married to Lizzie and they have three boys all of school age, one of whom is profoundly autistic. Sid is a passionate cyclist and has cycled from London to Amsterdam for charity.

Mel Holden

Mel, married to Tim (one of the Trustees below), runs our baby and toddler groups and also works with other groups in the church. She also plays a key role heading-up the worship team and regularly leads worship on a Sunday morning and at our prayer meetings.

Siri Scott

Siri has lived in Uckfield since 1984, and is passionate about the community in the town. She has been part of Kings Church since 1984 too. She is a trained nurse and counsellor, and loves helping people in many different ways. She enjoys being involved in pastoral care, Bible teaching and being part of building a church community.

Lawrence Mudford

Lawrence grew up in Wales and moved to Sussex in 1984, living in the village of Newick with his wife, four children and a cat called Archie! Lawrence has a passion to see people reach their full potential in Christ and to see the prophetic released within the body of the church. He is a member of the Wider Leadership Team, oversees a number of the Community Groups and enjoys preaching.

Andrew Ritchie

Andrew is originally from a farming background in Northern Ireland, but moved to England in 2011 to attend Moorlands Bible College. Andrew graduated from Moorlands in 2015 and moved to Uckfield with his wife, Ruth, in August 2015 in eager anticipation of what the Lord will do. Andrew's role is outreach and evangelism, while also having responsibility for youth work.

Trustees

Colin Peachment

Colin is the chair of trustees and ensures the finances of the church are well run: handily, he works for a banking group in the City. He also serves the church by helping with the children’s work. Colin is married to Claire and they have two grown-up children.

Tim Holden

Tim is responsible for the Sound and Vision team in the church. He works for Memralife Group (Spring Harvest, ICC, etc.), and is responsible for the technical management and development of all things computer related. He is married to Mel and they have two children in secondary school.

Sally Holman

Sally is responsible for safeguarding in the church. She works in pastoral support at a local school. She lives in Nutley, is married to Anthony and has two grown up children. Sally is also involved in the Sunday children's work.

Church Staff

In addition to Ade, Sid, Andrew and Mel above, who all work in the office, we also have other staff members.

Sandra Evans

Sandra is our treasurer and is responsible for ensuring our financial records and accounting are correct.
