What we do
Sunday meetings
10.00 a.m morning meeting at Uckfield Civic Centre. This is our main meeting where
we sing to God (with the help of a lively band), and listen to bible teaching.
A crèche is provided for 0-4 year olds and there are Sunday clubs for children
aged 4-14 grouped according to age. The children start with the adults in the
main hall and go to Sunday club part way through the music time.
Under Ones*
A social time for babies under 1 year old (and their mothers). The group runs
from 10.00 - 11.30am on Wednesdays during term time. Toys, baby gyms, videos,
play mats, tea and cake provided. This is based in our own building.
The Open Door*
Meets Thursday lunch times from 11:30 to provide lunch and friendship to anyone who is
around. This is based in our own building.
The Oasis*
Meets every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at 2.00pm to provide tea and
friendship for the elderly.
Community Groups
Community Groups meet most weeks in homes around the town and nearby villages.
Group members look after each other. They support, encourage and pray for one
another, and look for ways to do good things in their neighbourhood.
Alpha
We run alpha as an introduction to Christianity, for
anyone who wants to know what being a Christian is all about. This is based in our own building.
TNTs (11-14s)
As well as meeting on Sunday mornings for bible teaching, the 11-14 age group
meet most Friday evenings for games and other activities.
Young People
Those who are 15 and over have their own community groups. They meet for a
varied social programme on Friday or Saturday evenings
Prayer Meeting
Meets every Thursday at 7.00am to pray and support each other.
Vision and Values
An introduction to the Church and what we believe, for anyone who wants to
become a committed member of the Church.
Child Protection
The King’s Church, Uckfield takes seriously the responsibility to protect and safeguard
the welfare of children and young people entrusted to its care, and has a
robust Child Protection Policy which is approved by East Sussex
County Council.
We have detailed guidelines and procedures relating to child abuse suspicions
or allegations and ensure that these procedures are known and followed by
all workers.
All those volunteering to work with children and young people are subject
to a stringent application and induction process including Criminal Records Bureau
Disclosure, references, declaration of conviction, interview and
supervised probationary period.
* Not a churchy sort of thing. Designed with non-members in mind.
