Alpha

What is the point of life?

What happens when we die?

What relevance does Jesus have for our lives today?

Are these the sort of questions you ask yourself? We run the Alpha course to help you find the answers.

What is Alpha?

The Alpha course is the opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed, non-threatening, friendly environment.

There’s a meal at the start which gives an opportunity to get to know one another.  You can listen, learn, discuss and discover. And ask anything. Alpha is a place where no question is too simple or too hostile. And we are very interested in your opinions too.

Alpha was developed 17 years ago at Holy Trinity Brompton and is supported by all the main Christian denominations.  Currently around 13 million people have attended the course, worldwide.  King’s Church Uckfield has run the course since 1997.

Comments from those who have done the course

“Having pre-conceived ideas about religion, and all those involved, it was like a breath of fresh air to find people as curious as myself. At worst you’ll leave the same way you came, at best you’ll see life from a different perspective, and where’s the harm in that?”

“The course was very good – atmosphere, food, friendship, honesty, love, acceptance”

“Alpha has changed my thinking and every day life; it’s a good feeling”

“I now feel more enlightened, in fact considerably so, and I’m more appreciative of the things around me”
