Community Events

King's Church Uckfield is an active part of the community and gets involved in many events throughout the year, as well as hosting some of their own.

Uckfield Festival Big Day Out

King's Church has been celebrating the Uckfield Festival Big Day Out for quite a few years now, distributing free teas and coffees through the day, as well as putting on puppet shows, painting faces and giving balloons to the children.  2011 was no exception as we sat in the cool sunshine and enjoyed a fantastic day of the community coming together.  We hope 2012 will be another great day.

In the evening, we hosted our annual outdoor jazz concert which was be broadcast live on Uckfield FM.

The Dave Fellingham Big Band gave a fantastic performance to around 700-800 people that sat on the field with a bottle of wine and a picnic to share with friends.  The evening was completed by a spectacular light and sound show of a 7 metre Oak Tree and cast of illuminated puppets created by Same Sky.

Churches in Uckfield Funday

King's Church was all set to be part of the annual Churches in Uckfield Funday held on Luxford Field, 2-5pm on 17 July, but unfortunately this event had to be cancelled due to heavy rain.

Wealden Celebrations

Two or three times a year, the Newfrontiers churches from Uckfield, Heathfield, Lewes, Crowborough and Hailsham join together for a night of praise and worship.  They also join together for a camp at Plumpton Racecourse, which for 2102 looks to be for around 1,000 people!

Late Night Shopping

With so much going on in the High Street, we took over the Elzabeth Gardens on Friday 9th December for the Uckfield Late Night Shopping event.

Our tardis entrance took people back in time to see a living nativity complete with donkey.  Mulled wine and mince pies were being handed out to all who wanted them, though hot chocolate was pretty popular too.

We also had our puppet team giving performances  during the night, as well as a story teller reading 'Twas the night before Christmas to children in our own King's Centre.

Take a look at our facebook page for the photographs, or this Uckfield News report.

Around 600 people walked through the wardrobe and had a great time with free refreshments and other family activities.

Christmas Celebration

This year we host our annual Christmas Celebration on 18th December 2011 at the Uckfield Civic Centre

We will be presenting Steve Legg, a magician and escapologist, for a fantastic evening of entertainment which will be suitable for the whole family to come along to.  It is completely free!  Check out the video below for what you can expect.
