Hanzup Puppets

Hi, we are the HanZup puppet team!

You may well have seen one of our free puppet shows , as we have been part of the Uckfield Festival Big Day Out for several years, as well as performing at Christmas and Easter on Uckfield High Street. We also visit local schools, bringing the puppets into assemblies and teaching some songs, and once a month we join with the Kings Kids during our Sunday morning meeting, to perform a song or sketch.

If you haven’t seen one of our spectacular productions then here’s what you can expect.

Lots of colourful characters – talking camels, singing pensioners, babies with opinions on style and fashion, monkey twins, chatty children, funny families!

Songs – our puppets love to sing! And they love to sing a whole range of songs! Our favourite tunes may sound familiar but the lyrics are a bit different, re-written to tell people about God, or Jesus or being a Christian.

Stories – stories aren’t just for children, they’re for everyone, and we take our cue from the best story teller of them all, Jesus! He used stories set in every day life to show people how much God loves them, and we try and do the same.

Jokes – mostly bad ones (sorry about that!) We write all our own shows, and love to include as many jokes as we can.

So why do we put on puppet shows?

We all enjoy working with the puppets, its great fun to be part of a team, to work together on a production and to learn new skills. But that’s not the main reason for putting on a puppet show.

We put on puppet shows because it’s a fantastic way to tell people about something that’s really important to us as a team, and that’s Jesus.  We want everyone in Uckfield and the surrounding area to know that God loves them and wants to have a relationship with them.
