The Marriage Course

The Marriage Course was developed by Nicky and Sila Lee from Holy Trinity Brompton and is having a great impact on the relationships of people across the country helping them to build a strong and lasting relationship that will last a lifetime..  To find out more about the Marriage Course from their site, click here.

Who is the course for?

The course is suitable for:

  • Those who want to enhance their relationship
  • Those in the first few years of marriage / living together
  • Those who have been together for many years who want tools for an even better marriage
  • Those at the challenging stage of their relationship e.g. birth of a child, career change, teenagers at home, the empty nest…
  • Those struggling with issues in their relationship

Whilst the course is based on Christian principles, it is helpful for any couple with or without a Christian faith or church background.

What’s involved?

Each evening begins with a candlelit meal at a table for two. There is then a DVD followed by an opportunity to discuss the topic together as a couple. Privacy as a couple is always respected and therefore there’s no group discussion and no requirement to disclose anything about your relationship to anyone else. The leaders share their experience of marriage and are on hand to talk through anything during the evening or at a later date.

The course is very practical, giving couples time to talk about important issues that can get swept under the carpet in the rush of every day life. Over 7 evenings some of the topics covered include:

  • Recognising each other’s needs
  • Learning to communicate effectively
  • Resolving conflict
  • Healing past hurt
  • Knowing how to make each other feel loved
  • Relating to parents and in-laws
  • Good sex
  • Making time for each other
  • Having fun together

How much will it cost?

The course is completely free.
