About us

Overseas work

Whilst King's Church Uckfield is actively involved in working with  the local community, it is also part of something bigger: seeing God's kingdom advance in every corner of the world.

In response to this, we have over the years had involvement with work in several nations including Bolivia, South Africa, Tajikistan, Romania, Germany and Albania.

Our current overseas work is outlined below.

Bolivia

We support a family from the church in the wonderful work they do with street children in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.  Click here to see the work they do there.

David and Sarah Adjei moved to Bolivia some years ago to serve the street children of Santa Cruz, many of whom sniff glue and live in poverty and danger.  They have run a girls' home that cares for the girls, and sometimes their babies.

Recently David and Sarah have planted their own church, which is also part of newfrontiers,in Santa Cruz.  They gather members from across the city.  It is called Fuent de Vida, meaning Fountain of Life.

We are proud to support them, and their four lovely children, in as many ways as we can.  We sent two members on a gap year across to support them for three months: one even went back for another three months and is currently over there for a year!

South Africa

We have sent leaders and gap year students to help some churches in South Africa and the many people they serve.  An AIDS orphanage is one of the many ways that a small church in South Africa can help the poor and desperate people there.

Robert Thursfield visited the church at Mtubatuba in January 2011 and we often hold fund-raising events to support the church and AIDS orphanage there.

Albania

King's Church Uckfield has also been looking into the possibility of partnering with churches in Albania.

Robert Thursfield has visited the region and helped to train leaders whilst establishing relationships that we hope will be long lasting and fruitful.

If you would like to find out more about the work that we are part of beyond the reaches of Uckfield, please contact us.
