Wake Up To Trade Justice
I've just had an email from one of the bunch who went to the trade justice all-night march in London. In her own words, here's what they got up to:
9pm arrived

10pm opening event in Westminster Abbey
including music by Ronan Keating, Beverley Knight and Jools Holland
11pm set off from westminster abbey

We were given glow sticks to form a kind of human white band around parliament square. Some of us had banners.
12am 1 minutes silence and lighting of candles on whitehall

after that we sat and played drums and sang worship songs for quite along time, some other christians joined in and we even attracted some media attention!
We spent the next hour trying to find somewhere warm to go-We found a 24hour mcdonalds at 2am!!

This is when the largest number of people are awake worldwide. We stood near Downing street and joined over 20,000 others to make a noise for trade justice.

by this time a lot of us where half asleep but we still managed to keep going! There were people as far as you could see in front and behind. It was very noisy-Rob had blistered hands from playing his drum all night.
8am train home- nearly all fell asleep! But the night had been well worth the effort.
