Ziz Horns at the Uckfield Festival

They didn't disappoint. They played a rangle of styles, from Miles Davis to Norah Jones, and a couple of Latin songs too. Very professional, and ideal for an outdoor gig. There was a lovely relaxed atmosphere, with loads of groups of people watching the band together, and lots of picnics.

Mums' pamper day

Last weekend, we put on a pamper day for some of the mums who come to under-ones, over-ones and the parenting course. We got some beauticians to come along and do facials, massages, manicures, pedicures, waxing and eyebrow shaping. There were also foot-spas, a nail bar, computer-aided hair design, and of course, a swim in the indoor pool. There were also sun-loungers and glossy magazines in the garden.

The mums were given a cream tea, and a goody-bag to take home with them. They all thought it was wonderful and relaxing, and they enjoyed a break from the children for the afternoon. I guess we'll have to do another one!

Uckfield Festival Big Day Out

We really enjoy being part of the Uckfield festival, in particular, the big day out. There's always a great atmosphere, and so many people out and about. It's getting bigger every year.

Face paintingThis year we provided free face painting, which is always popular. We gave out free cups of tea and soft drinks too. There are some more photos here.

Whilst all this was going on, our technical team set up the stage for our free jazz concert this evening. They started setting up at 6.30 this morning, and will finish about midnight.

We've got the Ziz Horns playing on two lorries. We usually get a good turn out, and with good weather this evening, we'll be sitting around drinking wine and watching them. They'll be starting in about half an hour, so I'm off now...
